    What is an Ultralight?

An Ultralight (or Microlight) is a small, two-seater aircraft equipped with a powered engine, designed to carry no more than two individuals (a pilot and a passenger). The maximum fuel capacity is 90 liters, and the total weight—including fuel and occupants—must not exceed 600 kg. Furthermore, Ultralights are limited to a maximum speed of 130 km/hr, with average speeds around 80 km/hr.

    Why Choose an Ultralight Flight?
Flying in an Ultralight is an exhilarating experience! These flights are categorized as recreational aviation, perfect for those who seek adventure. Nepal boasts some of the world's most breathtaking landscapes, featuring towering snow-capped peaks, rolling green hills, and tranquil rivers and lakes. Aerial views provide unparalleled photographic opportunities and allow you to capture nature from a unique vantage point. Leave your worries behind as you soar above the clouds, embrace the beauty of the mountains, and immerse yourself in the enchanting blue sky—it’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

What Should I Know About Ultralight Flights?
You do not need any prior experience to enjoy an Ultralight flight with us. Before your flight, we will provide a briefing on important safety instructions and protocols. It is essential to follow all guidance provided by your pilot and crew members. While our pilots strive to ensure a smooth flight, minor turbulence may occur and is completely normal. Please be aware that launches can sometimes be postponed or aborted due to weather conditions, airport restrictions, or safety concerns. Should this happen, your pilot or a crew member from Avia Club Nepal will guide you on the next steps, whether that involves waiting, rescheduling your flight, or canceling. During the flight, your pilot may need to make slight adjustments to the route due to weather changes or air traffic control instructions.

Are There Any Passenger Qualifications for an Ultralight Flight?
Yes, passengers must meet certain requirements. The maximum weight limit for passengers is 110 kg (240 lbs). Our staff will weigh you using company scales, and if you exceed this limit, your flight will be canceled. Additionally, you must read, understand, and sign a liability waiver form prior to the flight. For participants under 18 years old, parental or legal guardian consent is required.

How Safe is an Ultralight Flight?
Ultralights offer significant advantages over traditional aircraft due to their light weight and speed. Their exceptional aerodynamic properties allow for safe extended flights and landings even without engine power. Each aircraft is equipped with a ballistic parachute system, ensuring safe landings in emergency situations. Ultralights require only 300 meters of runway for takeoff and landing. The pilots at Avia Club Nepal are highly trained professionals from diverse backgrounds, with extensive experience and numerous hours logged in Ultralight aviation. Many of them have previous experience as Air Force pilots.

    What Should I Wear?
It is recommended to wear supportive footwear. During the autumn and winter months, consider bringing a sweater and a light jacket for added warmth.

What Can I Bring on the Plane?
You are welcome to bring a digital camera or camcorder for filming. If you choose to fly in an open-cabin aircraft, please secure your equipment with a strap. Due to weight restrictions on Ultralights, additional luggage cannot be accommodated on board. However, you can safely leave your bags and personal belongings with our ground hosts in a secure storage area during your flight.

    What to bring

When booking the Ultra Flight Tour in Pokhara, Nepal, travelers should be prepared for an exciting aerial adventure. Here are some general recommendations on what to bring:
